FAQs
Pyroguard glass is an alternative to wired safety glass, offering fire rated glass without visible wires. This makes it more visually appealing and is a much modern version of the safety glazing.
Unlike traditional wired glass, Pyroguard provides clearer visibility, enhanced safety, and higher fire resistance levels. It combines fire protection with impact resistance, reducing the risk of shattering on impact. Therefore, it makes it safer in high traffic areas like schools, hospitals, and offices. Pyroguard’s fire rated glass can hold up under fire exposure for various durations (e.g., 30, 60, or 120 minutes). Subsequently, it also provides sound insulation and UV protection. It’s a versatile solution that meets stringent fire safety standards.
The embedded wire mesh is used to keep the glass together as much as possible when it breaks. This is useful in case of fire to hold the glass in one piece for a longer period in its defence against the fire.
Georgian Wired Rough Cast (GWRC) has a rough cut side and is obscure. Whereas, Georgian Wired Polished Plate (GWPP) is usually clear and both surfaces have a smooth finish.
