A misted window which has failed means that there is an opening in the seal which is letting moisture seep in. This is something we can fix. With our Misty Windows Brierfield service, we remove and replace the failed double glazed unit for a new one. Whether you are on or near Burnley Road, Clitheroe Road or Halifax Road, we can make your cloudy windows become clear again.
How do you know that you have a failed double glazing unit? It is recognised by the cloudy or misty looking glass. This is the condensation forming in between the panes. In your Brierfield property, wiping the area of the moisture on the glass will not clear it as it is on the inside of the glazing.
Failed seals for cloudy or misty glass are usually referred to the sealant compound. Hotmelt is the main type. It bonds the glass around the edges of the double glazing to create an hermetically airtight unit. Over time with changing properties due to the weather climate, it eventually forges a gap in the seal. This gap will become the passage for which moisture will enter to gradually advance into condensation inside the glass.
