Many recognise failed double glazing unit by the cloudy or misty looking glass. This is the condensation formed in between the panes. In your Padiham property, trying to wipe clean the area of the moisture, will not clear it as it is on the inside of the glass.
Relating to misty glass, failed seals are usually referred to the sealant compound, also known as hotmelt. It bonds and seals the glass around the edges of the double glazing to create a glass unit that is airtight. Over a long period due to the weather climate the properties of the seals change. It may gradually create an opening in the seal. This gap will become the passage for which air with moisture will enter to gradually condense on the inner glass.
